2009 May Update:

Welcome to the 2009 Dory Club Season!  Please see the attached letter from the Commodore, and note the dates below.

Membership dues are due May 1st, and those who have renewed will receive their key card(s) in the mail by that date.  The key card lock will be changed on May 2nd or soon thereafter, so please take the time to send in your application now, if you have not already renewed.  You can download an application from the Dory Club website.  Please make checks payable to “Nahant Dory Club” and send to P.O. Box 114, Nahant, MA  01908.

There is a work party scheduled for Saturday, May 16th from 9 am until noon, and your participation would be appreciated.  The primary work will involve readying the floats for launching, organizing the storage shed, and spring cleaning of the clubhouse.  If enough people help out, we can all be done by noontime.

The float launch will occur on Saturday, May 23rd.  High tide is 10:55 am, so we should begin around 9 am to get both floats in and secured before the tide drops.  We need as many hands as possible for this task, and to clean up the patio after the floats are launched.  Please bring work gloves, and a broom or gardening tools if you can. 

Please help make this a safe and successful float launch by lending a hand if you are able.  This is one task we can’t do without lots of help from the membership.

Memorial Day falls on May 25th this year.  Please come by the Dory Club and say hello to friends and members.

2009 Membership Application Posted:

The 2009 season is soon upon us, and your renewal application has been posted.  Please be sure to provide updates or changes to contact information, sign the application and return both pages with your membership dues by May 1st.

We are looking forward to an exciting season with plenty of sailing, racing, educational, and social events.  Please add your thoughts, suggestions, assistance and participation to the mix to help us make this the most successful Dory Club season yet.

More information will follow regarding early season events, the racing calendar, work parties, and the Opening Party.
